Until Check 21 accelerated image processing, it was impossible for banks to take advantage of offshore labor cost advantages for processing checks. But now image processing has enabled banks to have functions like proof of deposit, adjustments, exceptions all handled in India, overnight, greatly accelerating the speed of these functions and lowering their costs. For proof of deposit, for example, a very large US financial institution, was able to reduce its costs by more than 50%. In this session, learn what it takes to build a bank’s business case for offshoring back office functions – how to estimate the costs, how to estimate the savings, the pitfalls, what aspects must remain onshore, the protocols, and how to measure results.
